Beach walk with Tess

Tonight I went to Cora's for dinner. Today was a pretty crazy day- had to come from Zeeland, but the busdrivers were on strike... But luckily my dad was so sweet to drive me to the station, well- I drove myself to the station, but he came with me to drive the car back home:) In the afternoon I had to work, and coming home I found a refusal on a job I applied for- so that was sad! And here the busses are on strike as well, so had to ride my bike to Katwijk- where Cora lives (that's about 30 minutes from my house). So, I wasn't in the best mood ever as you can imagine:)

But... it was good to be with Cora, she made me a great meal. After dinner we went out for a walk with the dog of her parents- Tess. Isn't she a cuty?
We walked along the seashore and through the dunes and she enjoyed it alot! Though I have to admit that she's more energetic than I am:)

We had some interesting conversations...

Keukenhof!!

Today is a beautiful day, it was about 80/25 degrees!! That's amazing for this time of the year! But it was great! I went with two friends to the Keukenhof, that's the biggest flowerpark in Europe and it is close to Leiden! It's just open in spring, since it is all about spring flowers...

Amazing tulips! They are all so beautiful, the picture doesn't even show close how beautiful they are!

The park is almost perfectly gardened, but there was this special tulip among all the perfect white ones- but made it even more special!

And of course a dutch Windmill, with the Dutch flag on top... but as you see it was really crowded, so we didnt go on the windmill.

back to highschool!

On Easter Monday (yes, we do have two Easter days here in Holland) I had a reunion with my highschool class! It's been 5, almost 6 years that I left highschool, so imagine:) We met in Vlissingen, in front of the statue of Michiel de Ruyter (if you don't know him- you should google him;) We were with alot of people, I think about 20 of our classmates out of 34, so not bad at all! The weather was great so we walked along the beach, since we couldnt walk on the beach because of all the strollers;) It's so funny to see that people are married, having children, are pregnant... Such a different life than I have! Some people I still see on regular basis- but some I had not seen since we left highschool, but not much was changed...

People sort of came from all over Holland, and used this opportunity to visit family as well, so most people did not stay that long. But with this group we stayed on the beach till it really became too cold and then we went out for dinner... It was a great and interesting day!

Good Friday - Easter

“Here’s the man!”

Look at Him
Flogged and beaten
bore for us
indignity and scorn

Look at Him-
The King’s Son
on His head
a crown of thorns

Look at Him-
No guilt found in Him
sentenced to death;
because of our sins

Look at Him-
In a purple robe
He went the way of the Cross
without complaint

Our King-
Finished it
The road is free
The victory has been gained!
