Last day in Amsterdam...

Yesterday was the last day Kevin and TJ were here, so we went to Amsterdam again. They had been there on Saturday as well and visited the torture museum and the bible museum and I stayed home:) TJ really likes organs and he had found out that in the Oude Kerk (old church) and in the Nieuwe Kerk (new church) they have some really beautiful old organs. We had company yesterday- two friends of mine- Hennie and Susanne came along. We first went to the Oude Kerk- this church is in the middle of the Red Light district. I had never been there but it is so sad! The women are sitting in a window, they are not attractive or "enjoying" their job- they just look so sad and bored, old or really young. It made me really sad to see them and there are so many of them!! So sad that apparently there is a need for this sort of women in our society! This picture is taken in the Oude Kerk, where also was an exhibition and not just the organ. The world press photo 2006 exhibition was hold in here, really interesting!

Our original plan was to go to Muiderslot- a castle not that far from Amsterdam- but instead we stayed in Amsterdam the whole day. So much to see and do! We mainly just walked around. But we also took a canal tour, that takes you along all the special spots of Amsterdam. This is one of the most beautiful spots in Amsterdam- here you see seven (7) bridges in a row...

A wooden shoe boat:)

This are my friends Simon and Elke who were so friendly to open up their home for me so that they guys could stay in my room and didnt need a hotel or so... We took them out for dinner last night to the pancake house- really dutch and really good!:)
